Silk is one of the world's oldest and most valuable natural fibers. It is made from the cocoon of the silkworm and has been cultivated for over 5,000 years. In ancient times, silk was considered as valuable as gold and formed the basis of the legendary Silk Road, which connected continents and cultures.
Silk is a protein fiber, and its structure partially resembles the structure of human hair and skin. This natural composition gives silk its unique softness, strength, and breathability. Unlike synthetic materials, silk adapts to the body's temperature, cooling in warm environments and insulating in cooler air. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for sleepwear and garments worn directly against the skin.
We use 100% mulberry silk, which is considered the highest grade of silk. Mulberry silk is produced from silkworms that feed exclusively on mulberry leaves, resulting in longer, smoother, and more uniform fibers. The thickness provides a perfect balance between beautiful drape and durability; the fabric is dense enough to last, yet light and flowing on the body.
Silk is also naturally hypoallergenic and gentle on sensitive skin. Its smooth surface reduces friction and helps maintain the skin's natural moisture. For centuries, silk has been associated not only with luxury but also with well-being.
With proper care, silk is a durable and sustainable natural material. It is biodegradable, breathable, and ages beautifully. For us, silk is not just a fabric but an experience.

Silk vs. satin - What's the difference?
Many believe that silk and satin are the same, but this is incorrect.
Silk is a fiber, while satin is a weaving method.
Silk refers to the origin of the material itself, which is a natural protein fiber. Satin, on the other hand, describes a specific weaving technique that creates a smooth and glossy surface. Therefore, satin can be made from various materials, such as polyester, nylon, viscose, or even silk.
When "satin" is mentioned without further explanation, it usually refers to a synthetic material with a glossy finish. Such materials may appear similar to silk at first glance, but they do not possess the same properties:
Synthetic satin breathes less.
It does not adapt to the body's temperature.
It can accumulate static electricity.
It does not have the same durability or natural softness.
Silk can be woven in a satin weave, and in that case, it is called silk satin, which refers to actual silk with a satin finish, not a synthetic material.
For us, this distinction matters. We work with 100% silk. The texture is natural, the sheen is deep rather than plastic-like, and the feel against the skin is soft and vibrant.
